When Lauren Cody walked in to file for a business license in Portland, Oregon on January 30, 2025, she knew then it wasn’t just any other day. It was Cloudhouse’s birthday.
Lauren spent the first 4 months business planning, budgeting, and establishing branding and aesthetic vibes with her dear friend, Sierra Balmaseda. With coffee and pastries in hand, they poured their time, energy, and authenticity into what started as a dream. It was just a glimmer of what was to come.
From day one, the vision for Cloudhouse was very clear.
Lauren had always been drawn to the counterculture movement of the 1960s and 1970s, embracing anti war sentiments, civil rights activism, and personal liberation. She was heavily influenced by plant medicine, psychedelic art, spinning vinyl records, mod culture, hippie fashion, and social change.
Cloudhouse was starting to open up shop by May 2025. Products were carefully chosen based on the quality and efficacy, but also for function and design. After hand-selecting the initial lineup of goods, Lauren was ready for some additional help as she began planning for web store and pop-up events. *Cue Paloma, or as we call her, "The Wizard".
Paloma “The Wizard” Finkelsztein has been an essential part of Cloudhouse’s success. Bringing focus, humor, and heart to her role at Cloudhouse, she is indispensable and Lauren’s right hand woman.
A new arrival to Portland from NYC at the time of their meeting, Paloma brings a unique perspective and vision to Cloudhouse as well as expert problem solving skills and attention to detail. She is also very fun to be around.
On August 31st, 2025, Cloudhouse had its very first pop-up event at Hawthorne Hideaway hosted by our lovely friend, Tawney, of Coven Craft PDX. Shortly after, we joined a small business event with our good friend, Nathan, at How Convenient. These events led up to us starting at the Portland Night Market, the biggest and best of Portland in our humble opinion.
What an honor to be included in all of these special spaces as we continue to grow and bloom!

We believe in the importance of bringing the absolute best practitioners and people into our circle, supporting other small brands who join in the mission of quality and sustainability, uplifting small makers and businesses, and making our community a better place for everyone.
We know how important it is to be involved with and giving back to our community.
We’ve helped to raise funds for Planned Parenthood, Oregon Food Bank, and Friends of Seasonal and Service Workers (FSSW). We plan to continue to engage with the community and set a standard for connection and care.
Cloudhouse provides beautiful yet functional and exceptional goods; cozy, warm, and welcoming vibes; and an elevated experience with amazing practitioners and amenities. We are focused on creating a wonderful work environment and culture.
Cloudhouse intends to soon bring together esthetics, massage, sauna, salt therapy, gift shop, wellness classes, community events, and more, all under one roof. We want to infuse more accessibility, inclusivity, personality, warmth, and fun into the wellness space.
